Huawei expands its integrated wearable lineup in the UAE
Huawei has announced that the HUAWEI WATCH Buds 2 is now available for purchase in the United Arab Emirates. The device is positioned as a combined smartwatch and audio accessory, pairing an on-wrist display with wireless earbuds stored in the watch body.
At a price of AED 1,999, the watch targets users who want both health and productivity features, along with a more streamlined audio experience for commuting, calls, and everyday listening.
What the WATCH Buds 2 is designed to do
The central concept behind the WATCH Buds 2 is integration. Instead of carrying separate earbuds, the earbuds are built into the smartwatch, using a hidden compartment. Huawei says the earbuds support adaptive recognition, allowing either earbud to be used in either ear, and that they begin charging automatically when placed back into the watch’s surround charging system.
Huawei also describes direct audio controls from the smartwatch, enabling volume and sound management without switching to the phone.
Display and materials
For the watch portion, Huawei highlights a 1.5-inch AMOLED flexible display designed with a narrow bezel. The specifications shared in the announcement include a 466 x 466 resolution and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, which the company frames as support for clear viewing in varied lighting conditions.
The watch body is described as using aerospace-grade titanium alloy for the case, aiming for a balance of sturdiness and weight for daily wear.
Audio features and battery expectations
On the audio side, the company states that the earbuds include noise cancellation. Huawei also provides playback estimates tied to that setting, with up to 3 hours of music playback when noise cancellation is enabled and up to 4 hours when it is disabled.
For users, the practical question is how integrated earbuds affect charging habits. Because the earbuds are designed to recharge inside the watch, daily routines, charging frequency, and how often the device is worn will likely influence real-world battery comfort.
Health and lifestyle monitoring
Huawei’s announcement also emphasizes health and wellness capabilities. The watch is said to include features such as sleep apnea detection and alerts tied to heart-related indicators, including pulse wave alerts for atrial fibrillation and premature beat notifications. The company also references “heart health studies” and a high blood sugar risk assessment study.
As with most consumer wearables, these features are typically dependent on sensor performance, user setup, and algorithmic interpretation. Buyers should review what each metric is intended to indicate and how it fits into a broader health routine rather than treating a wearable reading as a medical diagnosis.
UAE availability and price
Huawei says the HUAWEI WATCH Buds 2 is available in the UAE starting June 21, 2026, priced at AED 1,999. Additional details are provided via Huawei’s consumer website.
Industry context: why integrated earbuds remain a key bet
The WATCH Buds 2 reflects a continuing trend in consumer electronics, where wearable manufacturers try to reduce friction in daily use. Integrated designs aim to eliminate the need for separate charging cases and to make audio access more immediate.
In the UAE, where consumers often prioritize compact, lifestyle-friendly tech, integrated wearables can appeal to travelers and commuters, particularly those who want notifications, health tracking, and audio all in one routine.
Still, integrated products also raise practical considerations, including how secure the earbuds feel in everyday wear, whether replacement options are straightforward, and how performance holds up over time. Prospective buyers may want to evaluate warranty terms and service availability alongside the published specs.
For now, Huawei is positioning the WATCH Buds 2 as a higher-end “two devices in one” option, with an AMOLED display, integrated noise-cancelling earbuds, and health features aimed at daily monitoring.
