Zain Omantel International (ZOI), the international wholesale arm of Zain Group and Omantel, has entered into a five-year agreement with telecom software provider Linxa to optimize the management of its international wholesale voice, messaging and IPX operations.
Following a competitive tender process, ZOI said it will replace multiple legacy operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) using Linxa Connect, an integrated platform intended to consolidate functions including rating, pricing, routing, billing and reporting.
In a statement, ZOI said the migration is designed to automate processes, optimize traffic routing based on cost and quality, and support faster commercial decision-making. The company also said the platform will include automated rate management, traffic monitoring and financial reconciliation, along with support for bilateral agreements.
Automation aimed at scaling and operational visibility
ZOI said the changes are expected to reduce manual processes and improve coordination between commercial and operational teams. The company added that the platform would provide greater visibility and control across its international wholesale business.
ZOI Chief Executive Officer Sohail Qadir said the company is investing in technology and partnerships to operate efficiently at scale, and that customers expect competitive services, consistent quality and the ability to respond quickly as market conditions change. He added that working with Linxa will simplify how ZOI operates and enable teams to make better decisions.
Linxa cites demand for wholesale voice and messaging efficiency
Linxa Chief Executive Officer Simon Dodsworth described the agreement as an endorsement of Linxa’s focus on supporting voice and messaging operators and carriers. He said the Middle East is one of the most dynamic wholesale markets and that ZOI operates “at its heart,” positioning the partnership around what Linxa called digital transformation and efficiency improvements.
Linxa Chief Revenue Officer Kunal Dave said ZOI’s wholesale voice and messaging operations require efficiency, flexibility and consistent service quality. He added that Linxa will apply experience from supporting other Tier 1 carriers, aiming to improve operational performance and create a foundation for continued growth.
Wholesale footprint includes voice and roaming services
ZOI said its Carrier and Mobility business connects operators, carriers and mobile service providers across regional and international markets, supporting more than 10 billion international voice minutes and roaming services across 200 countries. Its portfolio, according to the release, includes bilateral and transit voice traffic, international toll-free services (ITFS), mobile number portability (MNP) lookup, messaging hubs and firewalls, international roaming, signaling hubs, and IPX/GRX exchange services.
Linxa said its software is used by telecom providers to manage rating, pricing, routing, monitoring and invoicing with automation, and that it supports high-volume voice and messaging traffic while helping providers make decisions based on price and quality. The company stated it has offices in the UK and Turkey, with additional presence in the USA, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Tunisia, South Africa and Australia.
