Eyewear retailer Lenskart said it has launched a regional campaign called Score Your Frame that uses users’ Snapscore rather than naming a specific Snapchat product or platform, citing legal constraints around app naming.
In the campaign concept described by Lenskart, the brand does not ask consumers to download an app, follow accounts, or hear a pitch. Instead, it centers on a single question: “What’s your score?” The answer is then presented as different tiers of flex, including Rookie, Eye-Con, and Legend, according to the company.
Lenskart stated that it could not include the name of the app it wanted to reference, and therefore designed the campaign around an element it said is already visible to users. The company also said it aimed to appear where Arab youth “actually are” without requiring store visits, ticketing, or additional downloads.
The eyewear brand said participating creators posted content around the campaign’s Snapscore prompt, including screenshots, and that it saw strong engagement. Lenskart reported that the initiative drew more than 30,000 people who showed up to share their scores and that influencer posts generated 5,000+ shares, both numbers attributed to the company.
Lenskart did not provide details in the supplied release on how creator content was selected or verified, or whether posts were strictly limited to a particular timeframe. It also did not specify which markets the campaign covered beyond referencing Arab youth.
Next step: Ezz Collection try-on feature
Lenskart said the approach is being carried into its upcoming Ezz Collection, with a virtual try-on experience described in the release. The company says users can try the eyewear “(virtually)” and that “no store required” is part of the experience, without providing additional retail or availability details.
The release again avoids naming the app, stating that Lenskart “can put a lens on it” on the “yellow app,” while leaving the exact name unstated. The company did not include pricing or product specifications in the supplied text.
